Gabriel Shimunov is one of New York’s most esteemed hair stylists whose outstanding talent for creating trends translates to styles for any age, ethnicity, and desired look.
At 18 years old he landed his first job with Vidal Sassoon, the re-known world leader in the hair industry at the time. For the first six years, Gabriel spent his time gaining invaluable training with industry style icons whilst mingling in the lucrative and ever-changing fashion arenas of New York, London, Paris, and Los Angeles.
His next career stop, Gabriel selected the prestigious salon of Warren-Tricomi. Gabriel worked at both the Manhattan and Greenwich locations for six years and began to establish and utilize his own unique technique of cutting and styling hair. Gabriel creates precision cuts for male and female clients with all hair types that are well crafted, low maintenance and more importantly, cuts that grow out well. Gabriel goes beyond giving his clients what they expect. He takes time to visualize every possible style for the client and makes sure he gets the right look for that person’s lifestyle and personality, from tight long, thick curls to hair that is short and very fine.
Owning two private hair salons in the heart of Manhattan and Greenwich, CT - Gabriel believes in giving his clients a look that suits their lifestyle, face shape, and character. For his numerous bridal clients, Gabriel focuses his talents on a variety of stunning updo’s, from a cascade of gorgeous loose curls to the uber-glamorous, swept-up Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany's classic look. In addition to weddings, Gabriel boasts an impressive roster of private clients where he is constantly booked for shoots and other upscale events throughout the US and overseas.
Like many top stylists, Gabriel has spent time working the backstage circuit for top designers, such as Oscar De La Renta, Versace, Tracy Reese, Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, Roberto Carvalli, Calvin Klein, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, and many more, for many years at New York’s Olympus Fashion Week. Gabriel’s work has been seen in various media and extends to print, including W, Vogue, InStyle, Elle, Harper Bazaar, as well as a variety of TV commercials, film and Broadway.
